We're headed to our friends' annual BBQ, which promises to be tons of fun! I thought it would be fitting to post a patriotic note published in the Washington Post:
Think for a minute about America.
We’re a country of more than 300 million Americans.
Free to speak our minds.
Free to cast our votes.
Free to pursue our dreams.
Now think about why we are free.
It is because of the brave men and women of America’s military forces.
All who have served and continue to serve with honor,
deserve our gratitude for protecting the freedom we hold so dear.
Today, we especially honor those
who have laid down their lives
in the service of that high ideal – freedom.
We remember their courage.
Their dedication.
Their service.
As we honor the supreme sacrifice each of them made,
so do we honor America’s veterans and the men and women
serving today in our military forces.
